Christopher Mangan

B.S. Computer Science & B.S. Mathematics student at Monmouth University (Expected graduation: May 2027)

I am a student who enjoys building software, learning about cybersecurity, flying airplanes, solving math problems, and working with operating systems.

About Me

A few areas I spend most of my time on.

Cybersecurity

CTFs, Security Labs, Hands-on Practice

I am greatly interested in the world of cybersecurity, which spawned after I learned web development. I love the challenge of solving a problem, whether it is a CTF, reverse engineering challenge, or a sandbox like the OWASP Juice Shop.

Aviation

FAA Private Pilot License; ASEL, IR

Flying has been a large part of my life, and I have been interested in aviation since I was about nine years old. Today, I have over 200 flight hours, and am working towards my commercial pilot license.

DevOps

Docker, GitHub Actions

What I find more fascinating than developing software itself is developing software that can deploy itself within a few simple clicks, usually triggered by the merging of a pull request or commiting to a reposity.

Operating Systems

Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, etc.

I love working with different operating systems - specifically Linux and its various distributions. I mainly use Fedora on my development machines, but I have also tried most of the popular distros that exist.

Software Development

Next.js, Laravel, .NET

Most of the software I develop is designed for the web. I find websites to be accessible to the most people, and is why I enjoy building software for them.

Broadcasting

While not related to computer science, I enjoy volunteering and working in TV. I find the work exciting and love learning about the systems that power a broadcast.
